SSA GOALKEEPER DEVELOPMENT CENTRES - launching january 2025

We are delighted to announce the launch of our new Goalkeeper Development Centre in conjunction with James Devonald Goalkeeping in Haverfordwest this coming January 2025

At SSA, our emphasis is to develop the whole Keeper through the game of football. Our specific goalkeeping philosophy replicates this and we believe for any player to excel within the position of goalkeeper , the  coaching focus must revolve around the four pillars of our game.

SSA goalkeepers are split into two phases, Foundation & Youth. Multiple technical and tactical sessions are delivered to both phases with full and comprehensive breakdowns given to all to suit their own individual requirements.

Foundation Phase

The youngest age groups within the development centres will  focus on Movement and co-ordiantion including footwork and handling. As the players start to move through this phase we introduce their communication skill requirements as well as positioning and distribution. The primary objective in this phase is hihi repetition, technique first.

Youth Phase

In this phase our keepers and challenged in environments that require the skill to perform a technique in competitive environments. We look at the decision making process and include more tactical awareness, organisation and reading of the game. We Laos work with our keepers to gain understanding of how they can affect the game both in an out of possession.

Our SSA Goalkeeper centre runs on Thursdays 1700-1800pm at Ysgol Caer Elen, Haverfordwest.

January 2025 - 7 Week Term
