SSA Pre & Elite Academy

Established in January 2024, the SSA Elite Academy was created with one clear purpose: to provide talented and gifted young footballers from Pembrokeshire with opportunities to develop, compete and showcase their potential at the highest possible level.

From Pembrokeshire to South Wales, across the UK and into Europe, our players are given opportunities to test themselves against some of the best young players and academies in the game.

Training twice a week, our Elite Academy players work within a dedicated coaching environment led by an experienced team of FAW and UEFA-licensed coaches. Our aim is to create an environment where players can thrive, develop their individual game and learn what it takes to compete at a high level.

Our players are challenged every week.

The SSA Elite Academy competes in the SWA League on Sundays, while our Pre Academy players take part in the SWA Pre Academy Festival Programme, providing young players with their first taste of competitive academy football.

But our ambitions stretch far beyond the local league.

Throughout the season, our Elite Academy teams compete in fixtures against professional academies from across the UK, giving our players the opportunity to step into professional environments, experience the demands of academy football and showcase their ability against some of the country's leading young players.

Through our close relationships with professional clubs, we are incredibly proud that since 2024, nine SSA players have progressed into professional football environments.

For us, that is what the pathway is all about — creating opportunities.

But SSA is about much more than football.

We believe in creating memories, building friendships and giving young players experiences they will remember for the rest of their lives.

From European adventures and international tournaments to competing on a global stage, our players have the opportunity to travel, experience different cultures, represent SSA and challenge themselves beyond the football pitch.

We are building something bigger than a football academy.

We are building a family.

The SSA family is at the heart of everything we do. We want our players to feel proud to wear the badge, proud to represent Pembrokeshire and proud to be part of something bigger than themselves.
